  27.             The SPAN NIC supports an interactive database  system  which
  28.             can be accessed by logging in to the SPAN NIC host.

  30.             The  information  in  the  database  is  grouped  into   six
  31.             categories:

  33.             (1)  SPAN information  section:  General  Information  about
  34.                  SPAN, Administration structure of SPAN, History of SPAN

  36.             (2)  Query SPAN  database  of  NODEs:  Complete  information
  37.                  about a particular node, Listing of nodes by a particu-
  38.                  lar field, Complete listing of all nodes in  the  data-
  39.                  base

  41.             (3)  INTERmail syntaxes: How to send mail from SPAN to other
  42.                  users  on  other Networks and vice versa including SPAN
  43.                  to X.25 hosts; SPAN to  NASAmail;  GSFCmail;  TELEmail;
  44.                  OMNET; SPAN to INTERnet (ex. ARPAnet); SPAN to BITnet &
  45.                  EARN; SPAN to NSFnet; SPAN to JANET;  SPAN  to  MFEnet;
  46.                  JUNET; UUCP; ACSnet

  87.             To connect to the SPAN NIC via DECNET, type:

  89.                                 SET HOST NSSDCA <CR>

  91.             and log in as user SPAN_NIC.   You  can  also  set  host  to
  92.             NSSDC.

  94.             To connect to the SPAN  NIC  via  the  Internet,  telnet  to
  95.             either system and log in as SPAN_NIC.

  97.             Dial-in and Telenet access are also availalble.  Contact the
  98.             SPAN NIC for details.
